Charli XCX and Martin Scorsese‘s worlds are once again colliding, this time for a horror film helmed by the illustrious director.
Based on the gothic novel by Peter Cameron, What Happens at Night will drop a married American couple in a remote European town. The couple, who are hoping to adopt a baby, are confronted by a cast of peculiar hotel guests as they struggle with the adoption and, naturally, their own unease.
According to Variety, sources say that Charli will cameo in the Scorsese-helmed movie with box office heavy hitters Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. While not much else is known about the film, the outlet stated that the cast also includes Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson, and Jared Harris.
Reps for Charli, Scorsese, Apple, and StudioCanal did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s requests for comment.
Charli previously worked with Scorsese for the cover of her Music, Fashion, Film album released in July. The black-and-white image feature three icons from each category, sitting together in a kitchen: John Cale for music, Marc Jacobs for fashion, and Martin Scorsese for film. “She said she had an idea to run by me,” Cale told Rolling Stone in an exclusive interview. “There was talk of a video, an ode to an imprint of time and place. Next thing, I was on a flight. Ended up in a random kitchen.”
