Every Freep endorsement in Michigan election: Governor, SOS, AG, U.S. Senate, House, state Legislature, proposals

The Detroit Free Press Editorial Board has endorsed the following candidates in statewide races and for seats in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties in the Nov. 3 general election. Given the large number of contests, only viable candidates in competitive races were invited to interview for our endorsement.

Some seats are not competitive this year, either because one party has such a strong advantage in a particular district or because a challenger has little chance against a strong incumbent. In some cases, we're affirming a previous endorsement of a successful primary candidate or incumbent.

Find your legislative district: U.S. House, Michigan Senate, Michigan House.

Don't see your district or candidate? Here's why

Given the large number of candidates running in metro Detroit races, we invited the most viable candidates in competitive races to interview for our endorsement. Some seats are not competitive this year, either because one party has such a strong advantage in a particular district or because a challenger has little chance against a strong incumbent. Some candidates who are invited to interview opt not to seek the Free Press endorsement.
