Maryland college student Dilan Ashar missing, police continue search

Police are asking the public for help locating a 22-year-old Maryland college student who disappeared in early October.

University of Maryland police on Oct. 6 released new images of Dilan Shaan Ashar, who was last spotted on surveillance video on campus four days earlier at 2:30 a.m. ET near the Terrapin Trail parking garage.

The campus is in College Park just outside of Washington, DC.

In a post on Facebook, campus police said Ashar's relatives told officers he does not have his cell phone, wallet or identification with him.

"Dilan, we love you so much and we hope you are safe. We want you home," Ashar's mother said in a video shared by police.

She went on to plea with residents in College Park, asking them to check their doorbell, car and business cameras from early Friday morning forward.
