NORRIDGEWOCK – Geneva M. Parlin, 90, of Norridgewock, passed away peacefully on Sept. 8, 2026, at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Skowhegan.
Geneva spent much of her life taking care of everyone around her. Family was everything to her, and helping others was what she loved to do. She had a caring and generous heart and was happiest when she was doing something for someone else.
While raising her family, Geneva worked at Avian Farms. Later, she worked as a chef at a local restaurant and then in the kitchen at Woodlawn Nursing Home, continuing her lifelong tradition of caring for others.
Geneva is survived by her son, Brian Parlin and wife, Terrie, of Dexter, her daughter, Tammy King and husband, Jeff, of Norridgewock, and her son, Mark Parlin of Sidney.
She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Amanda Nichols and husband, Tom, Samantha Sidell and husband, Devin, Whitney Parlin, Brian Parlin, Jonathan Cayford, and Jenna Perkins.
Geneva was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Evan and Emilee Nichols, Liam Sidell, Mason Parlin, and Ryker Grant, who brought her much joy and happiness.
She also leaves behind her five siblings, Robert and wife, Dawn, Junior and wife, Linda, Sally Hanscom, Loretta Greene, and Cissy Bronn; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Geneva was predeceased by the father of her children, Royce Parlin; mother, Mary Pelotte, father, Shirley Thibeau, stepfather, Wilfred Pelotte; sisters Joan and Jeanette, and brother, Larry.
Geneva will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, generous heart, and the love she gave so freely to others. Her greatest joy was caring for her family and helping those around her, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all she touched. Geneva’s caring spirit will never be forgotten.
We will gather together for an ice cream social to celebrate Geneva’s life on Sunday Oct. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Smithfield Grange Hall. We ask you to wear your favorite plaid shirt in honor of Geneva.
