Raising Cane's newest Michigan restaurant opens Monday

Raising Cane’s, known for its hand-battered and made-to-order chicken fingers served with its Cane’s sauce, is set to open Monday, Aug. 3, in Novi.

Across from Novi Town Center, the Novi location, at 26245 Novi Road, is the third in metro Detroit for the Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based chain.

Raising Cane’s menu includes a chicken fingers (tenders) combo meal featuring Cane’s sauce, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast and a drink. There is also a kids menu, and its chicken fingers are also available in portions of 25 to 100.Its grand opening events kick off starting at 8 a.m. with music and giveaways.

To celebrate Monday’s Novi opening, there will be giveaways including a chance to win a drawing for free Cane’s fare for a year from 8-9 a.m. for customers ages 13 and older. Cane’s “Lucky 20” drawing takes place at 9 a.m., selecting the 20 winners who must be present to win.

A ribbon-cutting with the Novi Chamber of Commerce officials and Cane’s Crew is at 9:45 a.m. Doors open at 10 a.m. and Cane’s very first customer receives a special gift and welcome from the restaurant’s crew. At the opening, Cane’s is making a $1,000 donation to the Novi Youth Assistance.

“We’re looking forward to sharing our Craveable Chicken Finger Meals with customers in Novi and throughout Metro Detroit, while creating a welcoming place for friends, families and neighbors to gather," said Jessica Baranski, Raising Cane’s area leader of restaurants.

In Novi, like most other Raising Cane’s locations, the interior pays homage to the city and is designed with local staples in mind.

Also expected to be on hand at Monday’s opening is the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) organization.

According to a Friday, July 31, news release, PETA members plan on holding a “somber vigil” with signs showing images of the “immense suffering chickens endure in the meat industry,” while encouraging veganism. This is the first time PETA will be at a metro Detroit Raising Cane's.

The chain is known for its “One Love” slogan and meals featuring hand-battered, cooked-to-order chicken tenders. Todd Graves, the chain’s founder and owner, named the company after his yellow Labrador Retriever. Its first location opened in 1996, and there are now more than 1,000 locations in 40-plus states.

Raising Cane’s first Michigan location opened in February 2025 on Ford Road in Canton. Other restaurants are in Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Kentwood and Portage.

Raising Cane’s in Novi hours are 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
