Trump biographer knows the 'real reason' Guilfoyle’s out — and it's not corruption

Michael Wolff says he knows exactly why President Donald Trump fired Kimberly Guilfoyle, and it probably has very little to do with corruption. Corruption, he said, is the lifeblood of the Trump administration — so it’s not that.
Wolff is a longtime reporter and author, best known for his extensive coverage of Trump's political career, penning several books about his chaotic first term. But since Guilfoyle’s corruption is likely nothing compared to that of Trump, Wolff and co-host Joanna Coles discussed the real reason in the latest episode of his Daily Beast podcast, "Inside Trump's Head."
Kimberly Guilfoyle is a reflection of so much that goes on in Trump World. Donald Trump sets the model for [corruption],” Wolff told Coles. “We can't believe we've gotten into the position where we can effectively extort money from anybody.”
But to see the real reason for the Greek ambassador’s ejection the biographer said look no further than the woman’s likeability
“One of the answers is that she's low-hanging fruit, and the other is that the Trumps can't stand her,” said Wolff. “I think they've been asking this question for a long time: ‘how do we get rid of her? How did Don, Jr. ever end up with her?”
After praising her earlier in her career with the administration, Trump dismissed any meaningful connection to Guilfoyle after the former ambassador resigned in disgrace on Tuesday for allegedly misusing her office for personal profit. Trump gave Guilfoyle the cold shoulder, now describing Guilfoyle's engagement to his eldest son as "she, I guess, dated my son a long time ago.”
But Wolff said Guilfoyle is all things Trump.
“It's an extraordinary story of the kind of the rank — if not comical — ambition possessed by so many people in the Trump world, as a matter of fact,” said Wolff, “so all of these revelations about her trying to get money from this person and trying to get money from that person … the truth is that almost everybody in the Trump orbit you could pin similar things on them. So, it would be interesting to see all of their emails.”
“But I think the other thing is that Kimberly Guilfoyle, in a world where everybody hates everybody, the person they hate the most is KG,” Wolff said.
Wolff argues that people around Trump mostly despise one another, but they reserve the most hate for Trump’s own privileged family. So, Guilfoyle’s tenure as a family member engendered “real animosity” for her throughout the administration.
“I was going to say there's nobody who has a positive word to say about Kimberly Guilfoyle, but it's worse than that,” said Wolff. “Everybody has the most terrible things to say about her.”
Wolff added that as a dirty dealer deep in the dirty deals of the Trump family’s grift, Guilfoyle probably has as much dirt on anybody, and Wolff said he would love to see her emails and texts.
“There was a moment actually in the earlier stages of her relationship with Don, Jr. when she went around saying that Trump had made a pass at her,” said Wolff. So Guilfoyle’s dirt was likely prolific, endless and very entertaining.
