Western Michigan HC Lance Taylor takes high road after controversial loss to Michigan
Many will argue the refs robbed the Western Michigan Broncos of an upset win over the Michigan Wolverines on the road on Saturday. Broncos fourth-year head coach Lance Taylor isn't feeding that narrative.

Many will argue the refs robbed the Western Michigan Broncos of an upset win over the Michigan Wolverines on the road on Saturday. Broncos fourth-year head coach Lance Taylor isn't feeding that narrative.
Taylor spoke to the media on Sunday after the officiating fiasco. Trailing 12-7, the crew awarded Michigan one more second in the fourth quarter, even though it appeared time had expired after Wolverines quarterback Bryce Underwood missed on a Hail Mary. On the following play, he tossed a 47-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver JJ Buchanan.
Taylor used his Sunday news conference as a coaching opportunity instead of lambasting of the officials.

"Ultimately the refs did not cost [Western Michigan] this game and if we make the mistake of making it an excuse it allows us to be bitter instead of getting better, and I think that's [not] where we want to go as a football team," Taylor said, via Tony Garcia of the Detroit Free Press.
